Rights and Responsibilities

Your responsibility to the Meals on Wheels service is to:
  • pay for your meals
  • advise us in advance notice if you are not going to be home when the meal is delivered. (If you are not home when a volunteer arrives, the meal will not be left)
  • inform us of any days you will be absent for any short or extended time
  • communicate to us about any special dietary requirements
  • store your meal straight away. (How to store your meal)

 

You have a right to:
  • express any concerns you have about the service without fear of losing the service
  • have any complaints dealt with fairly and promptly
  • be represented by an Advocate of your choice
  • be assessed to receive meals without discrimination
  • have your specific dietary requirements met where possible
  • your privacy and confidentiality
  • expect that any information about you will not be provided to anyone else outside the service without your permission
  • view any information about you that is held by the service
  • refuse the service without retribution.
